Arkansas Razorbacks Face Quarterback Competition

The Arkansas Razorbacks will have a quarterback competition going into the 2026 season with five quarterbacks on the roster.

What happened to the previous quarterback room?

The previous quarterback room is all but gone, with former starter Taylen Green being selected by Cleveland in the NFL Draft.

Former four-star prospects Trever Jackson and Grayson Wilson hit the transfer portal after one year in Fayetteville and went to Coastal Carolina and Boston College, respectively.

Brayson McHenry is also no longer on the roster after one year at Arkansas.

Who are the new quarterbacks?

New head coach Ryan Silverfield brought in A.J. Hill from Memphis, where Silverfield coached him last season.

The Arkansas Razorbacks also signed Clemson quarterback Cade Trotter and Division II Angelo State quarterback Braeden Fuller from the transfer portal.

What experience do the new quarterbacks have?

Fuller is the most experienced quarterback of the group, playing in 28 games over the last three seasons at Angelo State at the Division II level.

He starred his second season under center with 2,318 passing yards and 19 touchdowns to lead the Lone Star Conference in both categories.

Trotter appeared in a scout team role as a redshirt freshman at Clemson last year after walking on as a true freshman in 2024.

What's next for the Arkansas Razorbacks?

The Arkansas Razorbacks will face North Alabama Lions on September 5, 2026, in their next game.

KJ Jackson will be a redshirt sophomore this season and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position.

The 6-foot-4-inch pocket passer went 33-for-54 passing for 441 yards and three touchdowns overall last season.

He had 11 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown as well.

Hill was a four-star prospect coming out of high school in Warner Robins, Georgia, and was ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the class of 2025 by ESPN.

The Arkansas Razorbacks also brought in freshman quarterback Hank Hendrix, who was originally in the class of 2027 but reclassified.

He led the Fayetteville High School Bulldogs last season as a junior and was listed as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports composite rankings.
